2018 was a record year for me, in realizing what brings me joy is simple. 

Much freakin’ less. Cancer called and cleared my calendar. 

What I learned is there is no rule book for how you play life when life gets this scary. I joked with my doctors that someone should seriously write the “Real Cancer Sucks Quick Guide,” Volumes One and Two, so you have a clue as to what’s next. There just wasn’t one. Forgive my humor, but you know when you’re going to lose a body part, suddenly you gotta find a little humor in things. Cancer is certainly an individual journey; much like the rest of life. Filled with lots of hard decisions and struggle. And even when it’s over; it kinda feels like it might not be over. It taught me a lot; I’m still learning each and every day. I did find it took a huge heap of God. The gift of cancer is it brought clarity to my faith, it brought lots of love & support from friends and family and my tribe, amazing doctors and a huge wake up call that makes you realize what matters and what doesn’t.

I’ve put that experience to work to help others; to make life better and simplify all the rest. This is where CarolineAnd.Co began as illness and the fight to get through it proved to be one of the most educational and enlightening parts of my journey. In the down time I had, which there was lots, I began crafting and refining elements for the coaching, mentoring and life strategies to cull, curate and collaborate…to get to the core of what truly matters. I hope some of what I have gleaned through this journey and through my life as a creative, entrepreneur, a woman, a strong brave individual and a human being, will help you make your life and your creative journey better and more joyful.
